end of exams signifies wayy more than 'no more school' for me.

ahh so its been a whole week of fasting.
still going strong.
its actually pretty fun fasting.
you won't feel so nauseatingly full ALL the time.
your body uses the spare energy from the lack of digestion to cleanse your system.
you get to feel a sense of satisfaction after a whole day of temptations (ie. awesome food smells but knowing you can only eat post 7pm)

AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING, (for people like me who spend like >80% of allowance on food)

is that you get to save money of course.
cos the daddy still gives me allowance.
and i don't have to buy lunch/snacks (which, believe me, cost... ALOT.)
so yeah.
its money saved (:

and then hari raya puasa comes and you start stuffing yourself with food and money.
awesomeness.

anw the holidays have been...
practically non-existant.
i mean, my regular school days are kind of like a holiday already.
but i did do productive stuff k!
like jamming on tuesday (was fun and funny haha)
and going to world scientific (bobby n jas's internship company) to interview people for english project (shocked or what HUH HUH HUH :D)
and... cooking.
yeah, the easiest way to fast is to be really really busy so you won't even notice you're hungry.

even though i had to leave right after lostprophets's shinobi vs dragon ninja, it was nothing short of AWESOME \m/

i met chey and her friends, sonia n adib at dhoby ghaut to dabao food to bring into singfest.
omg super sad.
cos like... sonia n adib got their tix for probably less than 100bucks (they didnt wanna tell chey n i how much they were, cos they scared we sadzz) whereas we paid full price ie. 153bucks with taxes n shit.
ahh in the end we realised we could've gotten in for free cos of connections.

but i digress.
chey n i brought our food in cos it didnt occur to us that we wouldnt be allowed to, but the other two thought that and THREW THEIR FOOD AWAY BEFORE THEY WENT IN.
wasteddd!!

alcohol there was exorbitantly priced la. (not that i drink)
like... 12bucks for barcadi and 6bucks for heineken i think.
and thats PER CUP as in like less than the size of a can...
crazyyy haha.
but we stuck to bottles of free water, courtesy of june the tattoo lady, which would've costed 2bucks each i think.
and you wonder how they make money right.

cos umi n the other 3 girls went for NDP HAHA.
while i was at singfest.
and i managed to hear (yeah HEAR only) fireworks n see the jetplanes in the air from fort canning too.

we were only in the moshpit during the new found glory and lostprophets sets, cos not really hot for the other bands la (SORRY. haha)
even though i was there MAINLY for lostprophets, the new found glory set was actually more... fun-ish.
like there was a point where they let this boy (KUDOS TO YOU DARL) go onstage, cos they asked the audience who knew how to play the riff for this song, and that boy knew, so he was playing (chad's guitar) and singing the last part and he even knew how to read the band's cues to end the songs like wowhe'ssofreakinawesome!
yeah and he got to touch/hug them all.

and they played two covers!

was nice!

yeah and ian was what cracked sonia n i up during the nfg set, cos he always beat his potbelly/moob in time with the songs, when he's not playing his bass HAHA.

and we HAD to be stuck beside 'self-proclaimed biggest lostprophets chick fans' who think the people in front were wankers just cos we werent screaming for lostprophets the whole time and blowing effin' whistles like they were.

was at nus like the whole day-ish to help out with the touch young arrow's sports meet.
haha the kids all so cute.

we helped to fill up like the goodie bags n were mainly in charge of the telematch.
some of us even participated in the all-stars 8x50m race hahaha

kinda nice seeing them like really happy after they received their medals.

like, they don't know how much getting a trophy/medal actually mean to some people.

we arrived post-noon, so we only had time to visit chatuchak market.
even though we spent like more than 3 hours there, i think we only managed to cover like 10% of the whole area.
tons of backpackers there.
i HAVE to come back here next time, when i'm backpacking with BFFs :)

oh yeah, but the weather here is HOTTER than it is in singapore, and less humid.

had room service for dinner.
fried rice was close to tasteless, but the chilli padi was mindblowing.

at night, abah aleefa n i went to the stalls nearby our place (windsor suites @ soi 18-20 sukhumvit)
many lacoste shirts haha.
and porn too, like super openly.
we were like a (skytrain) stop away from nana, so there were many 'professional escorts' and farangs (white men) around.

went to MBK.
one of the largest malls i've even been in.
i dare say its more then twice the size of WANYOU o.o (1utama @ kl)
even though the shops are in a straight corridor, you won't be able to see the other end of it if you stand at one end.

it has like 6/7 levels of shops and a really cool food court called 5th avenue.
not that cheap there.
but food's pretty good.
had tasty giant river prawns as side dish.
oh oh i love that sweet-sour-chilli-lime dip they give for the seafood.
its like some thai specialty.
really yum.

in the afternoon we tried the tuktuk!

its like a motorized trishaw but it goes DAMN FAST and man, some ride.
its small enough to squeeze into alleys a car can't drive in.
quite fun to ride in haha.
but not if you got motion sickness i think.

day 3 - tuesday june 9
we went for a ride down the chao phrya river, but not the whole way la.
took the skytrain and planned to walk to Pier 4, but we kinda got lost lol.
we walked into like scary alleys, with no sign of foreigners at all.
kinda like ubi avenue/those ulu car repair places in singapore haha
and after asking at least 5 people for directions, we ended up at Pier 3 o.o
yep.
we walked one pier down.
quite far laa.
and had to take turns to carry nawfal, who by the way is growing quite healthily [healthily = getting heavier at an accelerating rate.]
we rented a private boat from Pier 3 to Pier 13, where khao san road was.
i think it cost 500 baht (S$20)
but genius ameera didn't check what time khao san road stalls normally open (afternoon normally).
so we could only get stuff from the fringes of khao san road.
which was not bad at all really.
thats where i bought most of my stuff.
tees and berms galore there.

and omg we found the most awesome orange juice in bangkok.
they have stalls almost everywhere with bottled SQUEEZED-FRESH tangerine juice, which were not too sweet but not tasteless at all, with a noticeable tinge of sourness.
S$2 a bottle though, not cheap, but totally totally totally worth it.

anw we had lunch at baiyoke tower 2.
wanted to have the buffet on the 70-smth storey, but it was like S$40-ish bucks per head.
multiply that by 6 and yeah, thats why we decided to have lunch at a restaurant on the 18th storey (lobby) instead.
service there was really good.

then we went to platinum shopping mall for shopping part 2.
omg.
that place.
insane.
6/7 storeys too.
think my mom said there was 1400 shops there.
and a huge huge huge food court.
all the shops in the mall had like a 'wholesale policy'
where if you buy 1 piece, its this price, but if you buy at least 3 pieces, you get it at wholesale price.
shopping overdose here.

felt that an afternoon at platinum was just not enough.
so we went there again haha
then it rained when we wanted to go back.
so we HAD to take a cab back.
and gosh, when it rains, cab fares go up up up k.
cost us like S$10 for a ride that would have normally cost us S$2.

had dinner at some seafood restaurant at nana which aleefa n abah discovered in their first trip to bangkok.
owned by some african guy.
was the best meal we've had in bangkok.
we were all full to the brim.
like really too full to move.
but since nawfal was in a bad mood, we couldn't stick around to discover the 'wonders' of nana.
so yeah.

oh god, i just recalled a disturbing conversation overheard at the seafood restaurant, which made me almost choke on my yummy bbq squid.

wednesday: PSC psychoanalysis test [math was a killer la, i'll bet no one finished it ok. only freaks did.] + awesome tuna-cheese-egg sandwiches they gave us during the break + long lazy chat with mr lim bock boon and bobby (: i can't believe we chatted so much abt redundant stuff ;) HAHA. mr lim is so funny. i'm so getting him the awesomestest teacher's day gift this year.

thursday/today: opened an account at bukit batok driving centre + lunch@fareast + random walkwalk@raffles city [which makes that thrice this week with the same person]
and sorry i alwayssss have to leave you high and dry ;) being a good girl means sacrifice you knoww.

and tomorrow, i'm going to be a good sister and bring aleefa all the way to bedok for her brain gym lesson. better bring a good book to kill time.

this is what happens when theres too much food at a bbq.

WOW.
friday was extremely eventful haha!
but overall i felt really really blessed n blissful :D
awesome.

the nanos and i had our first track training of the year on friday!
obviously we were all damn scared cos we missed like 3 or 4 trainings, scared that we couldn't run anymore haha.

AND THEN we got the shock of our lives when mr foo told us 'ok team, today lets run x-country distance, to train for inter-school x-country thats gonna be held in botanical gardens. real distance is 3.5km for girls and 4.5km for guys but today i want girls to run 9 rounds (3.6km) and guys to run 12 rounds (4.8km). girls aim for 16mins, guys aim for 18mins so ok lets warm up with 2 giant rounds of slow jog and some drills'

i had butterflies in my tummy la! butterflies that spit acid and have fangs.
was really really scared lol.

BUT in the end we managed to complete it!
WHOO NANOS!

good try to those who ran too :)
lets all try to improve our timing by the time x-country comes ok!

then after the aforementioned, the nanos n i went to the netball court, not expecting to strain ourselves further.
but we walked into some more netball drills plus a few mini games.
walauuuu was damn tired haha!
and i guess maybe thats why we didnt manage to play our best, so we had to do 170 pushups/situps/crunches as punishment.
but at the end of the day i felt really satisfied cos of the major workout :D
really awesome.

and the icing on top of the cake was that little moment bobby n i had at the netball court.

we were just past the malaysian side of the immigration from the second link way, like maybe 1 km away, when they blocked off like the WHOLE ROAD.
no car could pass through la.
so all the drivers were like 'wtf!??!' and hopped off the vehicle trying to see wth was going on.
then after about 10-15mins we heard someone from behind say that a few cars behind them U-TURNED and sped off like damn fast dashing past incoming traffic la omfg.
crazy idiots, we thought.
then the next day, there was an article in the papers about it.
turns out those 5/6 cars carried stolen handphones or smth.

they've GOT to be the stupidest criminals ever la.
see, they U-TURNED and sped off, and no matter how fast, eventually where would they end up?

last night was just pure awesomeness.
despite being covered in 30573 other people's sweat (figure of speech huns, i don't think i WAS that filthy la lol) and being jostled like i was a marshmallow (by those huge men carting crazy idiots who fainted/going to faint outside) and the right shoe coming off twice, it was just great great fun :)
